A wrinkle in time is an all time favorite, I also just finished and loved the Percy Jackson and the Olympians. And the fearless series was also a favorite of mine. You know what I like to read now...give suggestions!! I still waiting for the new sookie stackhouse book and find reading a little dull these days.

By the way, I fucking miss you like crazy. We have to plan a trip to get you out here!!!!!

And Lila, i hope you got a cupcake!

Amanda's thought bubble: "I was really excited about kissing Lila, UNTIL I realized she wanted to kiss me too."

So typical.

I haven't read *any* of those Dahl books. I've read the two Charlies and James and the Giant Peach a million times. I still have my same ancient crumbling copies tucked away in a box.

Which reminds me, I need a new bookcase as well. Two in fact. And then I will fill them with homeless books as soon as they arrive and I'll have to think about the next one :)

One book I read every few years is Jeanette Winterson's "The Passion". And for me, my special library discoveries at the age of about 10 were, "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". I was hooked on sf and fantasy after that.

Happy Birthday Lila

Hi. I love the Critique of Pure Reason, and A Taste of Blackberries. I like Lila and the picture of the new TV.

What a sweet story. I have to say that A Wrinkle In Time is one of those books that even now I love to re-read, and even now I need to recover after finishing.

Also, I am now obsessed with this photograph of your bookcase. I am trying to figure out all the titles.

What a lovely article. But it is hardly Kira disapproving! I know how much you love books and you know I do too. My favorite YA books when I was in elementary school were the Betsy books by Maude Hart Lovelace. I happened to chance upon them in the library and read the entire series. I still get the warm fuzzies when I think about them. To name a few books that snuck up on me: Flowers for Algernon (which I read when I was 11 and has stayed with me all these years); The Thornbirds (the ultimate romance), Almost Paradise (I stayed up all night to finish it and threw the book across the room at 8am I was so upset by the unexpected ending. But I've read ever Susan Isaac book since) and A Prayer for Owen Meany (John Irving, another of my favorite authors). No need to send me a book, save it for your other fans here. Remember giving someone books you loved, is sharing your love with them -- and a form of recycling! Happy Valentine's Day! XOXO

The Phantom Tollbooth was my favorite book growing up; I was kind of famous for how many times I had read it, which I think was seven or eight or something, which was a big deal back then.

Man, you have to be early to the game here to be one of the first 3 posters.
